Veterans in Communities (VIC) exists to enable ex-forces personnel, emergency services personnel and their families to be a part of their local community; returning, belonging and prospering within and as a part of it. Their unique approach specialises on integrating and involving people in the community in their activities to break down barriers and allow their beneficiaries to participate fully in their communities, and enable a successful transition to civilian life. VIC offers a range of services to support individuals through peer supported activities; such as weekly arts and crafts groups, breakfast clubs/cafes, VIC Choir, walks and outdoor activities, allotment project, Veterans in Production project, volunteering, training and learning opportunities. VIC also offers the activities and projects to members of the local communities, some of whom may be experiencing the same difficulties. Involving the communities increases the chance of a successful transition to civilian life.
