The Welsh Dee Trust is an environmental charity with the objective of ensuring a river Dee free of pollution and full of wildlife. The charity's focus is on delivering tangible conservation interventions on the ground, with its work split into five programmes, each tackling specific problems, such as agricultural and other sources of pollution; fostering natural processes such as tree regeneration, addressing deadwood within the river channel, and floodplain restoration. The charity's Environmental Flows programme aims to reduce the impact of reservoir flow regulation on the wildlife of the Dee, and the Catchment Based Approach programme reduces replication of work by bringing together all the organisations working to improve the river's health. This is vitally important on the river Dee as a cross-border river.
