British Land and Pilotlight have been working together since 2023.
Collaborating with the British Land people development and performance management team, we have been delivering a combination of Pilotlight 360 and Pilotlight Insight programmes. In 2024, we were delighted to welcome a new cohort of both senior leaders and aspiring managers on these two programmes.
Skills-based volunteering is a key element of British Land’s responsible employment ambitions, and Pilotlight is proud to contribute to their 10% of staff undertaking expert volunteering in 2024. Building strong connections with communities local to their campuses is also a large part of British Land’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.
Pilotlight is delighted to be able to support them in achieving both their CSR targets as well as their L&D plans. We have been focusing on partnering their Insight teams with charities in the vicinity of their campuses, to maximise employee engagement and align with their CSR approach. For their first Pilotlight Insight programme, we partnered the British Land team up with a Southwark based youth charity. The charity leader from that project commented that:
“The team eagerly jumped into my world and spent hours listening to me talk about youth engagement and what we do, and did such an incredible job bringing their expertise and analysis to recommend how we could improve our efficiency.”
Through working with the people development team, we have provided British Land with cohort Learning and Development reporting. One Pilotlighter commented on their experience:
“[I’ve gained] confidence to learn about other sectors, to meet new people and build a rapport, to understand different views and perspectives, both from Jack and from working with colleagues I wouldn't usually collaborate with.”
