Eating Distress North East is a specialist mental health organisation working in North East England. Its services support people whose lives are disrupted because they experience serious mental and emotional distress caused by psychological trauma, giving rise to harmful eating and behaviours. The charity works with anyone affected by eating distress, with or without a medical diagnosis, has a person-centred approach and provide help from early identification of disordered eating through to recovery.
Its services include counselling, psychotherapy and peer group health and wellbeing sessions. It works with friends, family and carers through peer support groups and delivery of the Maudsley Model Training. Its training and talks raise awareness and deliver CPD to professionals.
