GISDA is a charity that provides intensive therapeutic support and opportunities for young people aged 14 to 25 living in Gwynedd. It was originally established in 1985 to provide shelter and support for homeless young people in Gwynedd, North Wales. Since then GISDA has developed a number of different projects and has recently evolved to include social enterprises within its structure as a means of continuing support services for vulnerable young people.
GISA helps young people by working with them through a Therapeutic Framework ‘Me’/’Fi’ to develop independent living and employability skills, care for their physical and mental health and wellbeing and develop self-confidence and a sense of self-worth. GISDA’s aim is that society’s vulnerable young people have the opportunity to improve their quality of life and not be disadvantaged because of poverty.
