Muslim Women's Council (MWC) is a Bradford-based charity that was founded in 2009 by a small group of local Muslim women who had experienced significant barriers to living in the UK as Muslim women. The founding members are still involved in the organisation and one of them is the current Chief Executive. The charity is a proactive user-led organisation, with the aim of addressing the barriers encountered by Muslim women and their families. Its work offers support to help its beneficiaries to deal with bereavement, domestic violence, child sexual exploitation, food poverty, period poverty, legal issues, access skills training, and empowering them to become advocates, researchers, and leaders with regards issues they face.
