1 in 6 people are unpaid carers for a friend, relative or partner- supporting loved ones who couldn't manage without help because of illness, age, addiction or disability. Signpost Stockport for Carers believes that having a caring role should not be a barrier to a fulfilling life. It's focused on supporting and enabling unpaid carers across Stockport to have the strength and resources to keep on caring (if that's what they want to do). Its experienced and caring team of staff and volunteers work with individuals to find ways and means that will increase resilience, reduce isolation and bring some joy into their lives. All too often no one asks how the carer is, how they are feeling and how they're looking after themselves. This is the charity's focus - and what it does well!
