Worcestershire Association of Carers supports adults providing unpaid care, who are caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental ill-health or substance misuse problems. There are over 63,000 carers in Worcestershire and it currently provides information, advice and support to over 12,000 of these. Its services include, a carers helpline and website, carer wellbeing assessments, carer support groups, training and a regular magazine. It provides drop-in sessions at various venues including care homes, libraries, job centres and hospitals.
It also supports carers to have their say at all levels of decision making. It has a comprehensive engagement programme to raise awareness of the issues faced by carers. It also works with the NHS, employers and voluntary and community sector organisations to build community assets for carers, and to increase the range of support on offer
